Abstract
The article examines Miklós Bethlen’s political and diplomatic efforts to protect persecuted Hungarian Protestant pastors and teachers during the “decade of mourning.” It analyses pamphlets, correspondence, legal proceedings, and international Protestant intervention against Habsburg religious persecution.
