Abstract
Traditional Chinese architecture and gardens are known for their artistic charm, with win downplaying a key-role in both aesthetics and function. Windows serve not only for ventilation and lighting but also as design elements, reflecting cultural significance through various shapes and forms. In gardens, windows frame and borrow external views, blending nature with the interior space. This concept enhances the harmony of traditional Chinese garden design. This paper examines the integration of traditional window design with modern approaches, as seen in the renovation of the Beihai Garden Expo Park's “Ancient and Modern, Chinese and Foreign” campus.
