Abstract

A sajókazai pasztofórium kutatástörténete során számos koncepció született a rangos reneszánsz emlék készíttetőjének kilétét illetően. A tanulmányban összefoglalt kutatások tovább mélyítik ismereteinket a feltételezett megrendelő, Tomori Pál személyével kapcsolatban. A felemelkedő köznemesi származású kalocsai érsek pályájának korai, Erdélyben kezdődő szakaszát, kapcsolatait a brassói szász bíróval, Johannes Benknerrel most a vörös márvány pasztofórium konzolján található feltételezett Tomori-címer kapcsán vizsgáltuk, az eredmények pedig egyelőre a Tomori-címerrel való azonosítás lehetőségét erősítik meg. | The tabernacle known as “Sajókazai pasztofórium” from the beginning of the 16th century is an outstanding renaissance relic of our county. There is a blazon on the bracket, which holds the tabernacle. Several researchers think that the tabernacle on the grounds of this blazon belongs to the commander Pál Tomori who died in the King’s service in the battle of Mohács. Although the Tomori family of Abaúj had estates in Borsod, we cannot find their names among the owners and their family blazon does not identical with the one of tabernacle entirely. According to the latest research, Pál Tomori had the tabernacle made as a remembrance of a Putnokys girl in Sajókaza who died before their wedding. Pál Tomori’s career and wealth derived from his position of the Transylvanian salt-chamber, the governor of convent resided in Kolozsmonostor and the castellan of Fogaras. During that time, Tomori had got strong economic relations to the Saxon patricians in Brassó, especially to János Benkner, whose family blazon shows prominent similarity to the ones of the tabernacle of Sajókaza. In addition to, Benkner got an estate of Abaúj (Papipuszta) from Tomori and thus the King Ulászló II. raised him to the nobility. Although this blazon cannot identify with that under review with great certainty, it gives us interesting information about the relationship between Tomori and Benkner. On the other hand, Tomori’s cousin, Miklós from the Csúcs (Transylvanian) branch of the family, also had a blazon made in renaissance style, which was Tuscan-type like the tabernacle of Sajókaza. Miklós Tomori had this blazon made in 1537 and placed it in the church of Kövesd first. It was different from the Pál Tomori’s item. Now it can see in the National Museum of Kolozsvár. As Pál Tomori helped the career of Miklós, and he might order the tabernacle, the item of Sajókaza could be an example for the making of the Kövesd remembrance.
