Abstract

A tanulmány a Pulszky család gyermeknevelési stratégiájába nyújt bepillantást a fennmaradt levelezés alapján. Pulszky Ferenc és felesége, Therese Walter különböző társadalmi hátterük ellenére abban egyetértettek, hogy a lehető legjobb oktatást kell megadni az 1846–1861 között született hét gyermeküknek. A szabadságharc leverése miatt emigrációba kényszerült házaspár nemzetközi környezetben nevelte fel az öt fiút és két lányt, nagyon tudatos elvek és módszerek szerint, mindegyikük képességeit a lehető legjobban kibontakoztatva. A tanulmányban bemutatásra kerül a gyermekek tanulási útvonala a szülői és magánoktatástól kezdve az egyetem elvégzéséig. | The study provides insight into the Pulszky family’s child-rearing strategy based on surviving correspondence. Despite their different social backgrounds, Ferenc Pulszky and his wife, Therese Walter, agreed that their seven children, born between 1846 and 1861, should receive the best education. Forced into exile after the defeat of the Hungarian War of Independence (1849), the couple raised their five sons and two daughters in an international environment according to very conscious principles and methods, developing each of their abilities to the fullest. The study presents the children’s educational path from private tutoring to university graduation.
