Abstract

Olaszliszkára a zsidó lakosság betelepülése az 1730-as években kezdődött. A haszid zsidó irányzat vezető rabbija a XIX. században Friedmann Cvi Hirsch volt, akit jótékonysága és tanításai miatt Csodarabbiként tiszteltek. A XIX. században a községet a haszidizmus központjává emelte. A holokausztot túlélő olaszliszkai zsidó családok 1945 után Izraelbe és az USA-ba emigráltak. Leszármazottaik 2014-ben létrehozták a Bais Liska alapítványt az olaszliszkai zsidó örökség megőrzésére. Az alapítvány vezetője Ezra Friedlander, a Csodarabbi egyenes ági leszármazottja. Az elmúlt három évben fogadóépület és parkoló, egyéni fejlesztés keretében pedig kóser szálláshely épült. A fejlesztések célja a zsidó örökség ápolása, a minőségi vallási turizmus feltételeinek biztosítása és a tartózkodási idő növelése. A kutatás azt vizsgálta, hogy e fejlesztésekkel felkerülhet-e Olaszliszka a nemzetközi zsidó vallási turizmus térképére. The settlement of the Jewish population in Olaszliszka began in the 1730s. In the nineteenth century, the leading rabbi of the Hasidic Jewish movement was Tzvi Hirsch Friedmann, who was revered as the „Wonder Rabbi” for his charitable works and religious teachings. During the nineteenth century, he established Olaszliszka as an important center of Hasidism. Following the Holocaust, the surviving Jewish families of Olaszliszka emigrated to Israel and the United States after 1945. In 2014, their descendants founded the Bais Liska Foundation in the United States with the aim of preserving and protecting the Jewish heritage of Olaszliszka. The foundation is led by Ezra Friedlander, a direct descendant of the Wonder Rabbi. Over the past three years, the foundation has financed the construction of a visitor reception building and parking facilities. In addition, a kosher accommodation facility has been developed through private investment. The developments aim not only to preserve Jewish heritage and provide the necessary infrastructure for high-quality Jewish religious tourism and hospitality but also to increase visitors’ length of stay. The purpose of this research is to examine whether the development of tourism infrastructure could enable Olaszliszka to become a recognized destination on the international map of Jewish religious tourism.
