Abstract

| The ESA Venus Express mission studied the atmosphere of Venus and its plasma environment. At the request of the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF), Hungarian engineers developed an automated calibration system for the ASPERA (Analyser of Space Plasma and EneRgetic Atoms) experiment. This distributed intelligence system was built on three PC/104 standard processor cards and operated with a real-time LINUX operating system. The system’s user interface program runs on a separate PC under Windows.
