Abstract
A mortalitás 15,3-ről 21,9/100 000-re nőtt (+42,8%), miközben a MIR 0,96-ról 0,79-ra csökkent. Az 50 éves vagy idősebb betegek aránya 89,4%-ról 94,3%-ra emelkedett (p<0,001). Eredményeink szerint a hasnyálmirigyrák népegészségügyi terhe Magyarországon tovább növekszik; a nőket érintő gyorsabb emelkedés és az idősebb korcsoport dominanciája célzott megelőzési, korai felismerési és kutatási stratégiákat indokol. | Pancreatic cancer (PC) remains one of the most lethal malignancies worldwide, with rising incidence and limited therapeutic progress. This study evaluated long-term epidemiological trends of pancreatic cancer in Hungary between 2001 and 2022, focusing on incidence, mortality, and sex- and age-specific distributions. Nationwide registry data were used to assess crude incidence and mortality rates, annual percentage change (APC), standardized incidence and mortality ratios (SIR and SMR), and the mortality-to-incidence ratio (MIR). Incidence increased from 15.9 to 27.7 cases per 100,000 population (+74.1%; APC: +2.55%; p<0.001). The increase was more pronounced among women (APC: +3.19%) than among men (+1.56%), and female incidence exceeded male incidence by 2022. Mortality increased from 15.3 to 21.9 per 100,000 (+42.8%), while MIR declined from 0.96 to 0.79. The proportion of patients aged 50 years or older increased from 89.4% to 94.3% (p<0.001). These findings demonstrate a growing population burden of pancreatic cancer in Hungary; the faster increase among women and the predominance of older patients support targeted prevention, earlier detection, and further research.
