Abstract

During our work, we reviewed the literature on the species five Taphrina and provided data on their distribution in northern Hungary, with focusing on the Mátra region. From all 22 data 11 data comes from oak habitats. Some of the species found cause witches’ broom, while others cause leaf curling on the infected plant. After reviewing the literature, it is likely that the fungistics data reported in the enumeration for the Mátra region are new data and the first confirmed occurrence of the pathogens. It can be stated that the species described in the publication are relatively common and generally distributed, and more data is expected to appear with further field work.
