Abstract
This study aims to provide a structured review of recent trends in Hungarian design methodology and to present the latest activities of the two most significant design schools. In the examined research studies, the classical methodological elements of the methods proposed by the authors are mainly linked to algorithmizing, databased solutions or computer-aided support. This is not limited to CAD-CAE modelling and simulation, but it also supports additional elements of the digitalised engineering workflow. In this article, the presented research results in the field of design methodology share common bases, however they differ in terms of which phases and which type of computer-aided methods of the design process they support. This paper develops a unified comparative framework for analysing the examined methods, which contributes to a developed CAD-CAE decision-support method.
