Abstract
The paper describes a cartonnage mummy-board discovered during the excavation of TT -61-. In addition to an analysis of the find context and the texts written on the board, it gives a detailed discussion of the painted designs, showing that mummy-boards with reticulate pattern composition already appeared in the Twentieth Dynasty. It is also argued that this kind of decoration was to express the substantial identity of the deceased with Osiris.
