Abstract

Az eponímák, a személyekről elnevezett tudományos fogalmak, nagy hagyományokkal rendelkeznek az orvostudományban is. Létrejöttük, használatuk a tudománymetria számára is érdekes tanulságokkal szolgál. Egy orvostudományi mintán a szerző megmutatja, hogy bár az eponímák alapjául szolgáló publikációkra való hivatkozások idővel kikopnak a szakirodalomból, e cikkek idézettsége még mindig sokszorosa a velük egyidős más publikációk idézettségének. Orv. Hetil., 2014, 155(36), 1445–1447. | Eponyms, scientific concepts named after persons, have a long tradition in medical sciences. Their emergence and use are rather instructive from the aspects of scientometrics, as well. Using a medical sample it is shown that although references to publications giving origin to the eponyms inevitably get obliterated, their citation rate is still many times higher than that of other publications of the same age.
