Abstract
The 27 managed fishponds were investigated in South Bohemia from October 2006 to October 2008. Eleven species of the family Corixidae were collected. Sigara lateralis, S. falleni and Paracorixa concinna were the most abundant and the most frequent species. Samples were more abundant at localities of smaller area. The life cycles of both bivoltine and univoltine species were studied, and together with data on the development in female genitalia showed a certain shift in the start of vitellogenesis during the investigated period.
