Abstract
The anti-utopias written by Valery Bryusov are analyzed based on the author’s first stories written in childhood, through his best known catastrophic and political anti-utopias (compared with Zamyatin and Orwell), up to many stories and dramas from which only a few were published. The interesting tragedy Dictator (1921) similar to Karel Čapek’s drama The White Plague is analyzed in comparison with the main theses by the philosopher of Russian communism Nikolai Berdyaev.
