Abstract
The paper offers an overview and analysis of the conditions under which in Transcarpathia the Greek Catholic priests were eliminated who considered themselves "Rusyns" or Hungarians. Although when Stalinist regime pursued Ukrainian and Russian priests as Orthodox as Greek Catholic -- the national issues had a special provision. Hungarians were considered "collaborators of the Nazis", as Hungary occupied Transcarpathia before the Second World war, and at the time took it from the Czech state. Greek-Catholic Church consisted of Hungarian priests as well as of those, who considered Transcarpathian Ukrainian dialect being as separate Rusyn language. They were considered "separatists". So national issues have copulated with Church policy.
