Abstract
Lucas Habina worked as a teacher of the Byzantine Liturgy and Old Chruch Slavonic Language in Eger (North Hungary) in late 60- ies of 18 century. His activity demonstrate the ambiguities between Eger Roman Catholic Diocese (archdiocese since 1804) and the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese in the 18th century. Bishop K. Esterházy founded a grandious library and provided education of some Greek Catholic alumni in his Roman Catholic seminary as well. This activity was criticised from the Mukachevo side with the "lack of education" in "Byzantine traditions". However, the inventory of the heritage of Lucas Habina consisted of 86 books and 14 (fourteen) of them were Church Slavonic liturgical books. Therefore, the teacher's manual-library held enough books to provide the alumni by education in their special Byzantine subjects. Investigaions made by the author in the recent Cyrillica fond of the library and in local archival sources, too, evidenced these books moved to the Diocesen Library after the passing of the possessor, and they are being held there nowadays, too.
