Abstract
PARIS COURTYARD, BUDAPEST, HUNGARY ARCHITECTS – ARCHIKON Being faced with the challenge of restoring a monumental building in any major city always presents numerous problems, here this was added to by the presence of technical design faults, relating to the poor quality of later additions and repairs. Also questions of how to replace or repair decorative elements including the Zsolnay roof tiles and ornaments. In addition to these challenges also fell the task of designing contemporary spaces and architectural additions, especially at roof level.
