Abstract
Without resorting to sentimentallity or overt trends regarding modernisation of historical monuments the architect responsible for this project was afforded the freedom to create a historically fatihfull reconstruction. This former bakery and archive building has been given a new lease of life, that is forward looking, considers issues of maintenance and usability. This is not a static exhibit, it is a functional building, and reinforces the idea of cultural identity and locality.
