Abstract

A délszláv konfliktus egyes nemzetközi jogi problémáinak feltárására irányuló kutatás valamennyi kitűzött célját elérte. A résztvevő kutatók munkájának eredményeként a kutatás feltárta a humanitárius intervenció elméleti sajátosságait, elemzés alá vonta az alapvető emberi jogok súlyos és tömeges megsértésének kérdését, megvizsgálta a délszláv válság idején végrehajtott nemzetközi katonai beavatkozásokat, valamint bemutatta a válságot követő, nemzetközi segítséggel zajló békeépítési erőfeszítéseket. Mindezeken túl, a megbízott kutatók közreműködésének köszönhetően, a kutatás kiterjedt a népek önrendelkezési jogának a volt Jugoszlávia felbomlásában játszott sajátos szerepére, a nemzetközi humanitárius jog normáinak érvényesülésére, a Nemzetközi Bíróság délszláv vonatkozású ügyeire, illetve az Emberi Jogok Európai Bíróságának egyik témához kapcsolódó döntésére is. | The research project aimed at the examination of certain problems of the Yugoslav crisis in international law has achieved all of its objectives. Owing to the work of participating researchers the project clarified the special theoretical characteristics of humanitarian intervention, analyzed the grave and widespread violations of fundamental human rights, studied the international armed interventions carried out in the course of the crisis, and introduced the international post-conflict peace-building efforts. In addition, as a result of contributions by external researchers, the research activities also embraced the peculiar role played by the right to self-determination of peoples in the dissolution of the former Yugoslavia, the applicability of international humanitarian law, the proceedings initiated before the International Court of Justice concerning the Yugoslav crisis, as well as a related decision by the European Court of Human Rights.
