Abstract

Munkánkat elsősorban a határ menti térségek és városok megismerése, vizsgálata jellemezte. Külön vizsgálatokat folytattunk a városi központokhoz kötődő, határon átnyúló folyamatokról, pl. a munkaügyi és felsőoktatási ingázásról, a szolgáltatások igénybevételének lehetőségéről, a határon átnyúló szuburbanizációról. Napjaink "felszabaduló" határtérségeiben a határon átnyúló vonzáskörzetek speciális esetekben jöhetnek létre. Úgy tűnik, hogy a határ menti térségeinkben a vártnál is gyorsabban átalakuló, határon átnyúló jelenségek elsősorban a városi funkciókhoz, urbanizációs folyamatokhoz kötődnek. A mozgások többsége a városi terek használatával függ össze. | Our main activity was to recognise and examine border regions and the towns. We made examination on the cross-border processes linked to urban centres, e.g. commuting with higher education or employment purpose, the possibility to use services and cross-border suburbanisation. We discovered analogues in Europe in order to be able to generalise our research findings. We made theoretical achievements in the modelling of the birth and direction of cross-border movements, in the typifying of the towns in the border regions, and we also explored the correlations between the development of towns and the spatial and functional changes of the state borders. The state borders created in the 20th century disintegrated the unfurling urban network of the Carpathian Basin, the effects of which were different on the respective hierarchy levels. Further development was determined in the first place by urbanisation, and by the development policy and ideology of the states. In the border regions of these days the cross-border catchment areas can be born in special cases. The cross-border phenomena in our border regions, which are even more rapidly transforming than expected, seem to be primarily connected to the urban functions and urbanisation processes. The majority of the movements are linked to the use of the urban spaces. The frequently mentioned but actually only indirectly existing mutual interests and the neighbourhood itself do not generate significant relations in themselves.
