Abstract

A munkánk eredményeképpen két megállapítást tehettünk. Ebben a cikkben a mély medencék lehetséges izosztatikus hatását vizsgáljuk. Célunk az izosztatikus hatásoktól mentes gravitációs anomáliatérkép, az izosztatikus anomáliatérkép előállítása. The different depths of the Moho in Central-Europe is determined by different crust thicknesses of the Carpathian Basin and its surrounding mountains (Alps, Carpathians and Dinarides) which are connected, fi rst of all, to the isostatic roots of the mountain regions. Using the isostatic correction we tried to compensate the gravity effects of those roots – as it was published in a previous paper (Kiss 2010). We looked for the reason of high Bouguer values above the deep sedimentary basins of the Great Hungarian Plain and we have tried to eliminate that regional effect by isostatic correction. Our experiences showed as follows. On the one hand, some regional gravity anomalies were left also after isostatic corrections (presumably because of geodynamic processes or inaccuracies of used physical parameters). On the other hand, the high level of gravity values at the Great Hungarian Plain could not be significantly decreased. The topography has no correlation with the depth of the Moho at the plain but there are some well-known mantle diapers there. Thereupon the Bouguer gravity anomaly map still contradict to known depths of the basement in the area. A formula to calculate the isostatic effect of oceanic crust – the effect of antiroots – is known for a long while, but what about the isostatic effect of deep sedimentary basins of continental crust? In this paper we are going to study that question. Our purpose is to realize a full isostatic correction and get gravity maps without any isostatic effects.
