Abstract
Based on the literature of butterfly and larger moth fauna, the authors comply the checklist of the fauna of Somogy county and present the short history of the investigations carried out in this field. In 46 papers, they found data proving the occurrence of 973 species of Bombycioidea, Sphingoidea, Papilionoidea, Geometroidea, Noctuidea taxa. A complete checklist is published, as well, with the relevant literary references.
