Abstract

A négy éven át folyó OTKA kutatási projekt keretében a Juhász Antal vezette kutatócsoport tagjai (Fodor Ferenc, Klamár Zoltán, Mód László, Simon András) - a pályázatban megfogalmazott céloknak megfelelően - a Dél-Alföldön, illetve a dél-alföldi kirajzások, valamint a dél-alföldi régióval szoros gazdasági-társadalmi kapcsolatban álló településeken (mezővárosokban, tanyákon és falvakban) végeztek néprajzi kutatásokat a gazdálkodás 20. századi változásának témájában. A recens terepmunkával párhuzamosan levéltári, adattári, sajtóbeli anyagok feltárása jelentette a téma szélesebb forrásbázisra helyezését. A kutatás eredményeit számos konferencia-előadás, tanulmány, s részben még megjelenés alatt álló önálló kötetek jelzik. | Within the frame of the four-year OTKA research project the members of the research group led by Antal Juhász (Ferenc Fodor, Zoltán Klamár, László Mód, András Simon) - in line with the goals defined in the grant application - have carried out ethnological research on changes in farming in the 20th century on the South of the Great Plain, and in emigration from the South of the Great Plain, as well as in settlements with close economic and social connections to the region (in market towns, farms and villages). The research was based in part on the (partial) results of earlier work done on the theme by the above researchers, and in part in new research centres, especially in the areas of the Bácska and Banat regions outside Hungary where the focus was on the culture of vine-growing, fruit-growing and wine-making, and on the processes of change in intensive market gardening and the present situation regarding work processes, technology, unit and work organisation and social relations. The agrarian ethnological interpretations were often closely linked to questions of settlement ethnology, social ethnology, ecological anthropology and even - mainly in the multiethnic research centres outside Hungary -interethnic relations and identity. In addition to participant observation and interviews, the results of the research are recorded in a large collection of photographs. Parallel with recent fieldwork, searches in archives, data banks and press materials expanded the source basis. The results of the research have been presented in numerous conference papers, articles and in separate volumes that are currently in press.
