Abstract
The constitutional and judicial review of the normative acts plays an important role in the area of municipal autonomy. These procedures have different sides. First of all, the constitutional review procedure of the Constitutional Court is one of the most important instruments for protecting the competences of the municipalities. Secondly, the bodies responsible for the judicial review of municipal regulations can define the framework of municipal autonomy, and they play an important role in protecting local democracy and the transparency and accountability of local government.
