Abstract

The bonding technology of high-strength steels is becoming more and more important these days. Although riveting and screwing can be solved, so a repairable joint can be created, however, these extra elements further increase the weight of the structure, which is an extremely sensitive area, especially in the vehicle industry. By welding and brazing, we introduce significant heat into the base material, in a high heat effect zone, as a result of which the mechanical properties of the base material may change. Nowadays, soft soldering is an economical, almost waste- free bonding technology used in more and more fields. By optimizing it, we can create an insoluble adhesive bond of adequate strength. The interface properties have a great influence on the adhesive bond between the solder and the base material. However, we have the opportunity to influence these interface properties in a favorable way for us, among other things, with high energy density surface treatment technologies. In the course of our research, we modify the interface properties of high-strength steel sheets with laser beam surface treatment, with which we want to improve the mechanical properties of soft-soldered joints.
