Abstract
MIDDLE AGES WALL RESTORATION, CABRA, CÓRDOBA, SPAIN; ARCHITECT: ALEJANDRO A. COBO FERNÁNDEZ Rebuilding a castle wall could be just that, rebuild the wall, whilst this project advanced the game by doing more than that: the space between the castle walls was integrated into the urban fabric by means of a small walkway leading down a flight of stairs to Ana de la Rosa Street, creating a pleasant vantage point along the way. The texture of the walls tells us what is new and what is a preserved wall constructed using Corten metal sheet frames indicate contemporary additions, at the same time contrasting the colour of the stone, highlighting the drawn lines. The transformation of barely 1,200 square meters makes the entire city more orderly and makes all its citizens rightly proud - worthy of their ancestors.
