Abstract

An objective of a new Coordinated Research Program launched recently by IAEA is to strengthen and broaden the cross section database for monitoring of charged particle beams given in IAEATECDOC- 1211. One of the suggestions is to complement the widely used natTi(d,x)48V monitor reaction by the natTi(d,x)46Sc reaction having a maximum in a somewhat higher energy. After compilation of the data sets for this reaction available in literature and unpublished data from our earlier experiments, a selection of 20 sets is proposed for statistical fitting and extraction of recommended values. A similar analysis is presented for the natTi(p,x)46Sc reaction where 16 datasets are finally selected.
