Abstract

Kutatásunk első és második évében az európai orvosi oktatás főbb középkori és koraújkori összetevői foglaltuk össze. Kutatásunk az alábbi öt nagy egységből állt: az orvostan oktatása a reneszánsz egyetemen; az ókori medicina hagyományozódása az egyházatyáknál; a tanköltemény az orvosi oktatásban; a középkori orvosi fakultás curriculuma és tankönyvei; a humanizmuskori orvosi oktatás filozófiastúdiuma. Fenti elemzéseinket az eddigi, elsősorban külföldi kutatók által elvégzett, s csak az egyes részlettémákra kitérő kutatásoktól eltérően a modern orvostörténet-írás alapelveit szem előtt tartó komplex módon folytattuk, s a teljes anyagot kötet formájában is megjelentettük. Kutatásunk harmadik és negyedik évében az 1769 és 1777 között fennállt nagyszombati orvosi kar orvosképzésének történetét dolgoztuk fel. Részletesen vizsgáltuk az azt közvetlenül megelőző időszak hazai orvosképzését, a képzés kialakulását, a tanterveket, a vizsgákra vonatkozó előírásokat, bemutattuk a tanszékeket, a professzorokat, és a fakultás hallgatóit. Elsőként elemeztük az elsősorban latin nyelvű tankönyveket, s lefordítottuk azok bevezető tanulmányait. Néhány neves hallgatóról teljes biográfiát készítettünk. A kötetet egységes formában megszerkesztettük és megjelentettük. Vállaltuk, hogy kutatásunk négy éve alatt anyagainkból két szakkönyvet állítunk össze, s azokat sajtó alá rendezzük, a tervezett célt sikerült megvalósítani. | During the first two years of our researches, we focused on the main components of the medieval and early modern medical education. Our project consisted of the following five major issues: a) the medical education at the Renaissance university b) the survival of the antique medical tradition in the writings of the Church Fathers, c) the role of the poema medicum in the medical education d) the curriculum and the textbooks of the medieval medical faculties, and e) the philosophical studies in the frame of the Renaissance medical education. We attempted to give - responding principles of the recent medical historiography - a complex analysis of the questions mentioned above, while former studies, performed by mostly foreign researchers focused exclusively on single details of the whole story. During the third and fourth years of our project the history of the medical education at the University of Nagyszombat (between 1769-1777) has been elaborated. The medical education in Hungary in the previous period, the making of this education, the curricula, the ways of revisions and exams have all been analysed here, supplemented by biographies of the teachers and those of the students as well. First time here was given a comprehensive analysis upon the textbooks used at the first Hungarian medical faculty - written mostly in Latin. We had made a pledge, that during the last four years we edit and publish two textbooks on the topic - and we met our obligations.
