Abstract

Sikerült kidolgozni fém-fém határfelületi rendszerekre atomisztikus molekula dinamikai szimulációs eljárást. A módszert alkalmaztam alacsony energiás (keV) ion-bombázás során előálló atomi folyamatok modellezésére . | We worked out an atomistic computational scheme for metal-metal inetrfacial systems. We employed it for the study of low-energy (keV) ion irradiation induced atomic processes. The ion-bombardent processes have been followed for various bilayers (Ti/Pt, Al/Pt). We studied the atomic mixing processes at the interface. We find an unexpected result: the magnitude of intermixing is not sensitive to the strength of the heteronuclear interaction potential. This lead us to further studies in order to clarify the details of the mixing anomaly. We pointed out that the ion-mixing scales nonlinearily with the mass-anisotropy of bilayer systems. I studied the ion-sputtering induced roughening at the surface of Al(111) and I found in accordance with the experimental results that nanopatterning occurs with ultrafast nucleation. In the second period of my project I worked on the simulation of ion-sputtering and I developed a new computational scheme (script) for simulating the complex atomistic process of sputtering. Our primary focus was to compare simulated broadening at the interface with measured values obtained by Auger electron spectroscopy depth profiling analysis. We get nice agreement for Cu/Co and Ti/Pt.
