Abstract

First records of 25 species are presented from the Korean Peninsula. Four mite species (Acari: Scutacaridae: Scutacarus acarorum (Goeze, 1780), Chaetodactylidae: Sennertia alfkeni (Oudemans, 1900); Ascidae: Proctolaelaps longanalis (Westerboer, 1963), Laelapidae: Hypoaspis (Pneumolaelaps)marginepilosa Sellnick, 1938) are found on the body of bees. Three of them are new to the Korean peninsula (collected in Democratic People’s Republic of Korea); one species is new only to the fauna of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (Sennertia alfkeni). One species (Parasites numerous Karg, 1965) was collected on the body of an unidentified scrabeoid beetle. This is the first record of this species from the Korean Peninsula (collected in the Republic of Korea). 17 soil dwelling Mesostigmata [Stratiolaelaps scimitus (Womersley, 1956), Hypoaspis austriaca Sellnick, 1935, Pseudoparasitus venetus (Berlese, 1901), Lasioseius sugawarai Ehara, 1964, Iphidozercon gibbus Berlese, 1903, Evimirus convergens Berlese, 1913, Macrocheles montanus (Willmann, 1951), Epicirus nemorosus Ishikawa, 1987, Epicirus stellatus Balogh, 1958, Parholaspulus orientalis Petrova, 1967, Neparholaspis shinanonis Ishikawa 1979, Gamasholaspis linae Petrova, 1967, Parholaspulus longisetosus n. sp., Vulgarogamasus oudemansi (Berlese, 1904), Gamasellus vibrissatus Emberson, 1967, Neodiscopoma quadra sp. n., Uroobovella kjerjongi n sp.] are presented as new species from the Korean Peninsula fromDemocratic People’s Republic of Korea and four soil dwelling Mesostigmata are listed for the first time from the Korean Peninsula from the Republic of Korea Hypoaspis vacua (Michael, 1891); Punctodendrolaelaps fallax (Leitner, 1949);Cheiroseius bryophilus Karg, 1969 and Ameroseius corniculus Karg, 1971. New occurrences of 10 earlier recorded Mesostigmatans and a second data of a plant inhabiting spider mite are given as well.
