Abstract
Bowing before his life - work we should cite A LEXANDER B URNETT word for word fr om his book entitled The Canadian Wildlife Service 1947 - 1997. B URNETT (1999) wrote a chapter on J OSEPH K EREKES with the title „ The Last Limnologist ”. With B URNETT ’s lines we want to hold J OSEPH K EREKES up as an example to the young limnologist and ornithol ogist generation.
