Abstract

A kutatás közvetlen, kézzelfogható eredményei: Három új, gondozott szövegű, annotált, kísérőtanulmánnyal ellátott kötet a James Joyce életműsorozatban, összesen több mint 800 oldal terjedelemben. Tucatnyi megjelent szaktanulmány magyar és angol nyelven, rangos hazai és külföldi kiadványokban. Mintegy tucatnyi, többségében angol nyelvű konferencia-előadás, amelyek nagy része konferencia-kiadványokban, vagy önálló tanulmánnyá formálva megjelenés előtt áll. Két megjelenésre váró, angol nyelvű monográfia (Mecsnóber Tekla és Gula Marianna disszertációi). Számos nemzetközi konferencia- és workshop-részvétel, kiépült nemzetközi kapcsolatrendszer. A kutatási projekt egyik legfőbb ? noha egyelőre még csak elvont formában létező ? eredménye az a közös módszertan, amelyre alapozva immár képesek leszünk bevégezni a Joyce-életmű korszerű, kritikai igényű, és ugyanakkor olvasóbarát átdolgozását a magyar nyelvi közeg számára. A 2006-os, magyarországi Nemzetközi James Joyce Szimpózium is visszaigazolja csoportunk tagjainak helyét a Joyce-kutatók nemzetközi mezőnyében. Remélhetőleg a hazai tudományos közvélemény figyelmét is ráirányítja eredményeinkre, és hozzásegít ahhoz, hogy lehetőséget kapjunk munkánk folytatására. | The direct, practical results of the research project: Three new volumes in the James Joyce oeuvre series with corrected text, annotations and explanatory essays. Over 800 pages of published text. A dozen published studies in English and Hungarian in learned journals, both in Hungary and abroad. More than a dozen conference papers, mostly in English, that shall be published either in conference volumes or as separate studies. Two monographs in English, yet unpublished (the theses of Marianna Gula and Tekla Mecsnóber) Partcipations in several international conferences and workshops; established interational connections. A most important result of the research project is the common methodology upon which we can base the establishment of a critically correct, yet reader friendly new version of the James Joyce oeuvre for the Hungarian cultural and linguistic environment. The 20th International James Joyce Symposium justifies the position of our researchers in the world-wide Joyce scholarship scene. Hopefully it will also focus some interest of the broader Hungarian research scene so that we could get the opportunity to continue our work.
