Abstract
In the field of the seismic protection of buildings, shear panels represent an effective passive control system. In this framework a wide experimental and numerical program has been carried out at the University of Naples aiming at evaluating the performance of stiffened pure aluminum shear panels. Experimental cyclic tests on two 1000x1500 mm panels, characterized by different stiffeners configuration, have been performed. To simulate the systems behavior, according to the experimental tests, refined FEM models have been set-up. The comparison among results shows that the proposed models are able to interpret the systems behavior in terms of their main features.
