Abstract
BORSODCHEM is a supplier of chemical raw materials. In 2009, BORSODCHEM ordered a chemical reactor — measuring 4.5 m wide, 4.5 m high and weighing 160 tons — from Japan. The reactor was shipped in one piece from Japan to Rotterdam, then through inland waterways to Bodrogkeresztúr, where it was unloaded.Bodrogkeresztúr is 80 km from Kazincbarcika destination. Load-bearing capacity of 31 bridges along the route had to be verified. Bridges failing verification had to be temporarily supported, ensuring the passage of transport, with no damage to bridges. This article describes the peculiarities of the job.
