Abstract

The sylvatic vegetation of Baskonus Mts was investigated between the years of 1998 and 1999 from phytosociological point of view. The study area is close to the transitional area between the Mediterranean and Irano-Turanian phytogeographical regions, and it is on the Anatolian Diagonal. The vegetation of the area was analysed by Braun-Blanquet's method and four plant associations belonging to coniferous forest types were described (Centaureo lycopifoliae-Pinetum pallasianae, Medicagini coronatae-Pinetum brutiae, Potentillo calycinae-Pinetum brutiae, Verbasco amani-Abietum cilicicae).
