Abstract

The literature review and model scale rock blasting tests have been undertaken to study the effects of some blast parameters and fragmentation on peak p-wave stress. The method for model scale blasting in sandstone blocks 515 ´ 335 ´ 215 mm has been studied and the results from a blast experiment instrumented with pressure gauge are given. The dynamic and static properties of the sandstone are also given. Useful correlation blast parameters, fragmentation and peak p-wave stress were established.
