Abstract

| The project aimed at clarifying the tendency and aspects of tabloidization and its relationship to politics. Tabloidization was approached on different levels: as a deep transformation of civilization, as changes of the media, as the modification and revaluation of the citizens? perception of public and political issues and as the alteration of the behaviour of political actors. During the research period thirteen pieces were published from the works of the projects: one book in Hungarian and in English, several chapters of volumes and some journal articles. The rest of the works will be published in 2007 in a volume that is to contain also the most valuable papers of the international workshop held in September, 2006 in Budapest. The participants of the project built a wide international network with the European and American experts in the field. The network will survive the end on the project and has already given impetus to new cooperation. Leaning on the possibilities the project offered one of the participants finished his PhD thesis during the research.
