Abstract

A Bóna István professzor által az 1970-es években elindított, számos szerző munkáját összefogó Gepida Corpus vállalkozás több évtizedes előkészületek után 2000-2005 között a Tisza vidék gepida temetkezéseinek kiadását és feldolgozását fejezte be. A terveknek megfelelően két kötet jelent meg: Gepidische Gräberfelder im Theissgebiet. Monumenta Germanorum Archaeologica Hungariae. Szerk.: Garam Éva-Vida Tivadar. Budapest 1. kötet 2002, 2. kötet 2005. E mai igényeknek megfelelő régészeti forráskiadványok és feldolgozások lehetővé teszik a Tisza vidékén a Kr. u 4-6. században élt népesség életének, társadalmi tagozódásának, kapcsolatainak és kultúrájának jobb megismerését, az európai meroving és a mediterrán kultúrkörrel kimutatható kapcsolatainak feltárását. A kiadott leletanyag alapján lehetővé válik a régészeti leletek pontosabb időrendi besorolása, kultúrtörténeti elhelyezése. | The OTKA (National Scientific Research Fund)-project: "Corpus of Gepidian finds" proposed and started by Professor Istvan Bóna in the 1970s complies works of several researchers. After long preparations lasting for several decades, it was completed between 2000-2005 by the publication and analysis of the Gepidian burials of the Tisza Region. As it was planned, two volumes were published: Gepidische Gräberfelder im Theissgebiet. Monumenta Germanorum Archaeologica Hungariae. Ed.: Garam Éva-Vida Tivadar. Budapest volume 1.: 2002, volume 2.: 2005. These archaeological records published and analysed according to modern requirements, make possible the better understanding of the life, social stratigraphy, connections and culture of the population that inhabited the valley of Tisza in the 4th-6th cent. A.D. We also learn about the relationship of these people with European Merovingian and Mediterranean cultures.
