Abstract
The study explores the ways in which the Austro-Hungarian satirical journals (Borsszem Jankó, Bolond Istók, Mátyás Diák, Üstökös, Kikeriki, Die Muskete, Wiener Caricaturen) represented the Russian events of 1917 on caricatures. It presents in chronological order the pieces of information that the artists illustrated with pictures, how they adapted to the Austro-Hungarian interests in the great war, how they interpreted the fall of the Tzar, the failure of Kerenskiy, and how they reported about the coming to power of Lenin. The last drawings already represent the festivities following the peace talks.
