Abstract

A konzorciumon belül a nyelvészeti kutatócsoport legfőbb kutatása arra irányult, hogy olyan kísérleteket végezzen, amelyekkel ellenőrizhetők a felolvasott szövegek alapján tett korábbi megfigyelések a prozódiai rekurzió megjelenésére, a tonális beágyazásra és a tonális folytonosságra vonatkozóan (Hunyadi 2006). Ennek során ezen megfigyelések érvényét az eddiginél tágabb vizsgálati kérdésekre is kiterjesztettük, ami a kutatási spektrum jelentős szélesítését eredményezte. Percepciós és produkciós kísérletekre került sor felnőttekkel és gyermekekkel e tonális tulajdonságok korlátainak a megállapítására. További kísérletekben a generatív grammatika szintaxis-prozódia interfészre vonatkozó feltevését vizsgáltuk, különös tekintettel arra, vajon empirikus nyelvészeti módszerekkel mennyire vizsgálható/támasztható alá a prozódiai rekurzió feltevése. Mivel a vizsgált folyamatok a csoportosítás megvalósulásaiként jelennek meg, vizsgálataink kiterjedtek a nyelvi ritmus szervezési elveinek a tanulmányozására is. Végül izgalmas kihívásként siketek jelelését vizsgáltuk annak érdekében, hogy szerkezetépítési sajátosságaikon keresztül a csoportosítás mint a rekurzió alapja bizonyos velünk született nyomait azonosíthassuk. Legfontosabb eredményeink: a prozódiai rekurzió percepciós igazolása, a tonális folytonosság érvényesülési feltételeinek leírása spontán beszédben, a szimmetria, csoportosítás és rekurzió összefüggéseinek feltárása a ritmusban, multimodális korpusz létrehozása. | Research by the linguistic research group was aimed at experiments to check and support earlier observations on the realization of prosodic recursion as tonal embedding and tonal continuity based on read-out texts (Hunyadi 2006). We extended our experiments to further aspects of the issue which resulted in the widening of the spectrum of the research. We carried out perception and production experiments among adults and children in order to identify the limits of these tonal properties. By way of further experiments we studied the issue of the syntax-prosody interface of generative grammar to find out how the assumption of prosodic recursion can be supported by empirical linguistic means. Since the processes under investigation appear as a representation of grouping, we extended our research to the study of the organization of linguistic rhythm as well. Finally, as an exciting challenge we studied the properties of structure building in the signing of deaf people so as to identify some possibly innate traces of the basis of recursion. Our most important findings include the proof of prosodic recursion in perception, the description of the conditions of the realization of tonal continuity in spontaneous speech, the description of the relation between symmetry, grouping and recursion in rhythm, and the creation of multimodal corpora.
