Abstract
Szervita Square in Budapest is noted for its dynamic rate of change, hosting baroque, classical, neo renaissance, turn of the century premodern and now amorphic modern designs. Attempts to “restore” the spatial and temporal continuity of this urban space, while working with different contemporary means, making clear formal references to the historical context of space. What they have in common is that the historical forms are not reinterpreted as a single model, but also adapted to the task and challenges of the present. Szervita Square's character perhaps lies in its continuous transformation, so it is likely that the new developments will not permanently fix.
