Abstract

: Rising from an existing foundation intended for a portal frame building this small-town sports hall has provided a multifunctional community space. To prevent the feeling of enclosure this sports hall has a ribbon of windows along its side wall at ground level to one side and eaves windows to the other. Light and openness playing a key factor in this building's design philosophy. The choice of materials and geometry help tie the sports hall into its surroundings by matching the neighbouring school and residential buildings. Finaly the location also requires that this building can serve the community as a multifunctional space.
