Abstract

This article aims to show to what extent Linguistics has contributed to the recently renewed research of French versification. Integrated for a long time to the literal or stylistic studies, the “new” versification becomes autonomous by adopting linguistic methods and terms. We propose to reconstitute the different steps of this renewal, concentrating particularly on the interface between versification and phonology.
