Abstract

A csendőrség Európa egyik legrégebbi rendvédelmi szervezete, melynek a történetét a francia kutatók a XIV. századig vezetik vissza. A HABSBURG birodalomba a csendőrség intézménye Lombardián keresztül érkezett. A kiegyezéssel a Magyar Királyság területén a HABSBURG birodalmi csendőrség magyarországi alakulatait feloszlatták, azonban — mivel az önkormányzati rendőrségek a rend fenntartása terén csődöt mondtak — 1881-ben létrehozták a magyar nemzeti csendőrséget Magyar Királyi Csendőrség elnevezéssel. E szervezeten belül — más szakszolgálati ágak kiépülésével egyidőben — a két világháború között kerültek kiépítésre a vízi csendőrség első alakulatai. = Gendarmerie is one of the oldest European law enforcement organization. The french historians dating back history of gendarmerie to the 14th. century. The institution of gendarmerie arrived in the HABSBURG-empire through Lombrady. After the hungarian-austrian compromise (1867) the HABSBURG Imperial Gendarmerie’s troops have been disbanded in Hungarian Kingdom. However — because the municipal’s police fall down — in 1881 established the hungarian national gendarmerie named Royal Hungarian Gendarmerie. Within this organization — at the same time as the development of other branches of the service — the first formations of the water gendarmerie established between the two world war.
