Abstract
The Avar Age Cemetery of Zselickislak is a partially excavated archeological site. The first two graves came to light in the spring of 1969 and later six poorer graves were discovered. Unfortunately the objects of the richer graves were lost or mixed with other sites finds. The Rippl-Rónai Museum of Kaposvár treasures two garnitures of bronz mounts from Zselickislak, but according to datas and the finder’s (Péter Berzy) memories, only one was found at the spot. In this article with the help of the functional and decoration-style analysis of the belt mounts I’m trying to find out which belt set was found in the spring of 1969 in the vicinity of Zselickislak. I had only one starting point: the finder clearly remembered a sematized human depiction on the propeller-shaped mount. The analyses of the depiction and it’s paralells may give us new datas of the Avar Age iconography and beliefs.
