Abstract
The golden jackal (Canis aureus) is a native canid in the Carpathian basin; perished one hundred years ago, and spontaneously repatriated in the end of the 20th century. In this study we evaluated the results of the acoustic survey performed in Somogy and Baranya counties during three years (2004-2006) in spring and autumn seasons. The survey was performed by playing jackal chore sound record to to determine the minimum known density of golden jackals.
