Abstract
MINDSZNETYNEUM, ZALAEGERSZEG, HUNGARY – ARCHITECTS: MIHÁLY KÁDÁR and CSABA BALOGH A museum dedicated to the life and works of Cardinal József Mindszenty takes on the role of "clothes make the man" by means of a perforated elevational treatment. According to the designer the surface of the building acts like moiré silk taking on a wave like appearance wrapping the building like an item of clothing. The artefacts and exhibits within take on a more meditative role allowing visitors to contemplate the life of the building's namesake and the history of Hungary throughout his lifetime.
