Abstract

Schindler Szilárd vezérezredes (1887–1943) a 20. század mindkét nagy háborújában részt vett. Műszaki tisztként harcolt az olasz hadszíntéren, majd különböző vezérkari és katonadiplomáciai beosztásokban szolgált. Harctéren szerzett elméleti és gyakorlati tapasztalatait a Ludovika Akadémia II. főcsoport, valamint a Bolyai János Honvéd Műszaki Akadémia parancsnokaként is hasznosította, tisztek százainak oktatását és nevelését irányította, akik közül sokan életüket adták a hazáért. | General Szilárd Schindler (1887–1943) fought in both World Wars of the 20th century. As a military engineer, he first fought on the Italian frontline in WW1, then served in the General Staff and in other military diplomacy positions. His theoretical and practical knowledge was utilized as Commander of the 2nd Study Group of the Ludovika Academy and the Hungarian Defence Military Engineering Academy, where he took part in the training of hundreds of officers, many of them later paying the ultimate price in service of their homeland.
