Abstract
RESTORATION OF SAINT MICHAEL'S CATHEDRAL, VESZPRÉM, HUNGARY; ARCHITECT: TAMÁS CZIGÁNY, ANIKÓ PÁLL, RÓBERT PAPP Believer, tourist, concert listener, celebrant: what do we see? A new-neo-Romanian reconstruction? Contemporary renovation of a medieval church that has been rebuilt many times? A contemporary work of art featuring both historical details and modern materials? Perhaps the closest to the truth is a neo-Roman contemporary, historicizing restoration, but the picture is much more complex than that. Questions of what seems to be appropriate regarding cathedral restoration abound, but to understand the answer it is often better to visit the project and draw one's own conclusions.
