Abstract
The reunification of Germany in 1990 was a watershed moment in Europe-an history, symbolising the end of the Cold War and the dismantling of the Iron Curtain. While the political reunification was achieved swiftly, the economic integration, particularly concerning wages, posed a complex challenge that echoed the deep-rooted disparities between the Eastern and Western Länder.
