Abstract

Lengyelország és Románia volt a leginkább atlantista NATO-tagállam az elmúlt évtizedekben, és a nagy földrajzi távolság ellenére számos kapcsolattal rendelkeztek az Amerikai Egyesült Államokkal. 2014 óta az európai biztonság jelentősége felértékelődött, és mindkét ország jelentős haderő-modernizációba kezdett, amely szintén több ponton is kötődött amerikai cégekhez. A gazdasági-kereskedelmi kapcsolataik azonban továbbra is szűkösek, a lengyel és a román társadalom mégis alapvetően pozitív színben látja Washingtont, és támogatja a hozzá való politikai-katonai elköteleződés fenntartását. | Poland and Romania were the most atlanticist NATO allies in the last decades, and despite the great geographical distance between these European states and the United States of America, they deepened their relations with the North American country in several fields. After 2014, the importance of European security increased, and both countries started significant army modernization programs, which were connected to American companies. On the other hand, the economic and trade relations remained underdeveloped, but still, the Polish and Romanian society favored good diplomatic relations with Washington, and supported the further strengthening of military-political relations.
